lebron james scream if you love rpgmaker
basically everything on this page except like one game is here LOL
the final entry in the clowder series after middens and gingiva, both of which are just as good but ive chosen to not include them since theyre already quite popular. this game came around the time clowder got in alot of controversy so it didnt blow up as much, but i still think its one of my favorite games of all time -- and probably one of the best rpgmakers ever. you will either love this game or hate it with your whole guts. if you dont want to support clowder due to his past controversies, just HMU on a personal contact and ill share you a pirate of this game lol
ironically, i gave this game a negative review on steam for its very poor gameplay design. then why is it here? because of its visual and audio design. trench face is so good at an effective atmosphere with minimalist resources and assets. the audio design, ESPECIALLY the audio design, is fucking impeccable. if you want to see how a good horror atmosphere is done with the barebones essentials, you need to check this game out
i would not recommend this game to the average "player", but rather to an rpgmaker developer or overall game dev feeling a lack of confidence in your ability. february 2k3 is an absolute trainwreck of a game, and despite that, it wears this status PROUDLY on its sleeve, which kind of turns the trainwreck from cringe to endearing. its a testament to how no matter how "good" or "bad" your game is, so long as youre doing it with passion for the craft in your soul, it WILL have some redeeming qualities.
its hard to explain why i love this game. you probably know lisa the painful. you probably know how lisa the painful is considered one of the best rpgmakers of all time. horrorvale is basically lisa the painful but with a halloween aesthetic. does that get my point across? also once i raged so hard at a game in this boss that i got a special title for it in the discord server of the game lol
yes i know it is a bit funny to put a fnaf fangame in your recs. but i genuinely think dayshift at freddys, and the creator's later original game, dialtown, have better writing than most rpgmaker games. is that crazy to say? i dont know. but also these games are FUNNY. like legit some of the funniest thins ive seen in the rpgmaker community this game series WILL have you belly laughing like that oneyplays image regardless of your sense of humor
theres like. one or two games here. currently only one. technically i could put THOUSANDS of non rpgmaker games id recommend to people here but i want this page to be reserved for more "niché" stuff so we'll have to make do with like 3 games here max lol
this game is, admittedly, not everyones cup of tea. it touches on extremely personal subjects and as such has alot of scenes that would make most people otherwise roll their eyes or maybe even get disgusted. however, if the personal subjects DO align with your own personal feelings and such, the game hits you like a fucking bullet train right through and turns you into a fine mist but in a good way. id say give it a shot because if you like it you WILL fucking love it
ill add more stuff to the both rpgm and non-rpgm parts as i keep updating the site. but for now this is all im keepin here harharhar hahahahah im eviiiil also i dont have anything else in mind at the moment lol
